What are the secrets of Pioneers' success? Simple - excellent food, plenty of it, old favourites as well as some interesting surprises on the menu and, last but not least, friendly and efficient service. Pioneers offers great value for money.

 

Among the old favourites are:

  • Lamb chops ("The best lamb chops in the Karoo", Joanne Floris, Die Burger)

  • Spare ribs. These are pork belly, boneless and can be served lean or fat according to your choice

  • Aunt Clara's soufflé omelettes. Aunt Clara is the invariable winner of the town's annual omelette competition.

Some of our surprises are:

  • Baby beef Bombay (we won't spoil the surprise by telling you what this is - discover it for yourself!)

  • Kudu schnitzel

  • Ostrich carpaccheo

  • Calamari and mussels. Seafood in the Karoo? Just try it and see.

  • Sushi - the real stuff!

One of our most popular touches is the complimentary bean soup with fresh home baked bread and butter while you wait for your main course to be prepared. This can be a perfect light meal in itself but then, of course, you will be expected to pay for it!

 

For those who do not want an à la carte meal at lunchtime, Pioneers also provides tasty pub lunches.
